Web Design & Digital Media Exploration

This year-long introductory course is designed to provide students with the basics of designing and developing websites, which will prepare students for careers that involve creating, designing, and producing multimedia products and services, including the development of digitally generated or computer enhanced media used in businesses. The six steps of website design and development process (Information gathering, planning, designing, development, testing & delivery and maintenance) will be covered. The first semester of the class will be devoted to the creation of authentic multimedia content: text, audio, images, animation, 3D drawing, video and interactive content forms. In the second semester students will publish their original work created in the first semester, and learn about several Web 2.0 applications that they can use to enhance their individual web based projects.
