7-8	Middle School AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) This course is designed to prepare students for post-secondary education including working on socio-emotional needs of developing teens, embedding AVID strategies for content achievement, and aligning with school-wide behavioral and self-monitoring goals. AVID develops student abilities in reading and writing and teaches study and organizational skills that develop and prepare students for high school and beyond. Offers weekly Tutoring for homework and classwork support. This class has many field trip opportunities to encourage students to set goals for College and Career Readiness.
