Kent Crosby- Principal
Mr. Crosby is married to the marvelous Lisa Crosby and they have four fantastic child. All of their children attended schools in the Victor Valley Union High School District (VVUHSD). Three graduated from Victor Valley High School (VVHS)—Ashley, George, and Mary-- and one from University Preparatory (UP)--Nadine. All four have gone on to college. He firmly believes that any school in the district will properly prepare a student for college. The effort that the student exerts in studying and doing well is what will determine the student’s direction.
Mr. Crosby graduated from Brigham Young University in 1978. While there he was on the Fencing Team and competed across the Western States. He began teaching in the VVUHSD in 1980 and has been employed here ever since. He began teaching at VVHS in both English and Spanish. He has served both as the Department Chair for World Languages and the Department Chair for English. While at VVHS he was active in coaching. He served as the Head Coach for the Fencing Team for 32 years. During that time VVHS won 38 State titles and 10 National titles. Many of his fencers went on to prestigious schools to continue fencing after graduation. He announced the football games for 28 years and the track and field competitions for 12 years. He was the Head Coach for Lady Jackrabbit Basketball for 7 years. He has been extremely active in the teacher union, having served as President of VVTA, as well as Chief Negotiator for 27 years. For the last two years he has been the Dean of Students at VVHS. His current assignment is as Principal of the best school in the district—Lakeview Leadership Academy. He earned his Master’s Degree in 1996 and his Administrative Credential in 2015. At the beginning of his 37th year in the district, he feels blessed to work with a dedicated staff, wonderful students, and caring parents.
